Bio

Rhonda L. Mitrani, filmmaker, completed her first documentary film
called in 2002,"Cuba Mia" The film premiered at the Miami
International Film Festival and garnered the award for "Best
Documentary" at the Rewind Fast Forward Film Festival. Ms. Mitrani
began her film career at Miramax Films as a post production
coordinator where she discovered her love for editing. Ms. Mitrani
assisted on the indie documentary film Sundance hit "Modulations" and
worked as a principal editor and post supervisor on the award winning
comedy "Hit and Runway". (Showtime) Ms. Mitrani graduated U of
Michigan with a BFA. She continued her education at Tisch School of
the Arts at NYU and London’s Middlesex U. For the last seven years,
Rhonda has been working as an avid editor for ABC News Productions,
Oxygen Media and MTVLA. Rhonda has served as a board of director for
the national organization IFP/South, and a juror/panelist for festivals
such as the Miami Int’l Film Festival and the Brazilian Film Festival.
She continues to direct her documentary film festival, which is in its
4th year. The festival is the launching program of her production
company called The Florida Room™. Rhonda is
currently developing a feature film which was recently part of the
NALIP witer’s lab. She is also in pre-production for a documentary
about the human relationship to dolphins.
